Sound of the Westcoast is weer een erg mooi document van de hand van Leo Blokhuis. Ook nu weer duikt hij de popgeschiedenis in en komt hij op de proppen met een prachtig boek en vier zorgvuldig samengestelde cd's.
 

Ditmaal is de muziek afkomstig uit de Amerikaanse West Coast gedurende de periode 1965-1979 het onderwerp. Het is de periode waarin artiesten als bijvoorbeeld The Byrds, The Beach Boys, Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, James Taylor en Love bekend werden. In Sound of the West Coast bespreekt Blokhuis de muziek van deze bekende maar zeker ook van minder bekende, maar net zo interessante, artiesten.
 
Leo Blokhuis is duidelijk een fan van het eerste uur en al lang een van de grootste ambassadeurs van de West-Coast-muziek. Op de vier cd’s staan bijna tachtig mooie nummers. Het boek staat boordevol interessante informatie en is uitermate netjes verzorgd.
