Mark Olson is natuurlijk bekend als de mede-oprichter van The Jayhawks. Na het verlaten van die band richtte hij in 1997 samen met Victoria Williams The Original Harmony Ridge Creekdippers op waarmee hij samen 7 albums maakte. Ingunn Ringvold komt uit het Noorse Larvik (toevallig ook de stad van Thor Heyerdahl, de beroemde ontdekkingsreiziger en schrijver van Kon Tiki). De laatste jaren woont het stel in Californië en maken om het jaar wel een internationale tour. Magdalen Accepts The Invitation is hun derde album samen, mooi omschreven als "Death Valley isolation chamber folk/pop sound".
