In hun 15-jarig bestaan scoorde de band al 3x een top 5 album in de UK charts, nu zijn The Wombats terug met hun 5e studioalbum! Op 7 januari 2022 verschijnt ‘Fix Yourself, Not The World’. De bandleden namen het album het afgelopen jaar op op afstand, ieder vanuit zijn eigen woonplaats (LA, Londen en Oslo). Ze ontmoetten elkaar iedere dag via Zoom, bespraken op die manier hun plan en stuurden vervolgens individueel hun bestanden op naar producers Jacknife Lee (U2, The Killers), Gabe Simon (Dua Lipa, Lana Del Rey), Paul Meaney (Twenty One Pilots, Nothing But Thieves), Mark Crew (Bastille, Rag'n'Bone Man) en Mike Crossey (The 1975, The War on Drugs, Yungblud), die het mixten tot de uiteindelijke tracks. “Pure waanzin”, volgens frontman Matthew Murphy (Murph).
