Dylan, Cash and The Nashville Cat: A new Music City is een erg mooie verzamelaar (met één nog niet eerder uitgebracht Bob Dylan nummer) die uitgebracht wordt in verband met de tentoonstelling over Dylan en Cash die in de  Country Music Hall Of Fame and Museum in Nashville, Tennessee gehouden wordt.

In 1966 verraste Dob Dylan menigeen door naar Nashville te komen om daar een nieuw album op te nemen. Dit werr de klassieker Blonde on Blonde. Daarna nam Dylan nog Nashville Skyline, John Wesley Harding en delen van Self Portrait in Nashville op. Door Dylan's besluit om in Nashville op te nemen, raakten meer bands en artiesten, ook omdat zij onder de indruk waren van het vakmanschap van de lokale sessiemuziekanten, geïnspireerd om naar Nashville te komen.

Johnny Cash, zelf woonachtig in Nashville en een goede vriend van Dylan, fungeerde in de destijds ontstane muziekscene als een spil. Hij bracht de verschillende muzikanten bij elkaar. Mede ook doordat hij in die tijd de Johnny Cash Show iedere week op tv uitzond.

Deze verzamelaar laat horen wat er in die tijd zoal voor moois gemaakt is.
