Through The Open Window is de titel van het achttiende deel van Bob Dylans langlopende Bootleg Series. Dit achttiende deel beslaat de jaren 1956-1963 en vertelt het verhaal van Dylans opkomst en ontwikkeling als songwriter en performer, van Minnesota tot het bohemienachtige Greenwich Village van de vroege jaren zestig.

Dit zijn de vroege jaren van Dylan, toen hij zijn talent aanscherpte en traditionele folksongs en tekstschetsen omzette in liedjes, waaronder ‘Blowin’ in the Wind' en ‘The Times They Are A-Changin’'. Het album wordt afgesloten met een nooit eerder uitgebrachte opname van Dylans historische concert in Carnegie Hall op 26 oktober 1963 – een concert dat ook het einde markeerde van het begin van Dylans lange carrière.
