Sinds de release van zijn debuutalbum Come Around and Love Me (2023) heeft Jalen Ngonda, volkomen terecht, snel naam gemaakt. De single “If You Don’t Want My Love” werd 253 miljoen keer gestreamd en hij trad op in grote tv-programma’s als The Graham Norton Show, The Late Show with Stephen Colbert en Later... with Jools Holland. Daarnaast was hij voorprogramma van Thee Sacred Souls tijdens hun Amerikaanse tournee en verkocht hij wereldwijd clubshows uit als headliner.
Nu is er dan de opvolger van Come Around, zijn tweede album: Doctrine of Love. Dit album bouwt voort op zijn debuut en is geïnspireerd op zijn overtuiging dat mededogen de leidraad moet zijn voor menselijk handelen. Muzikaal combineert het popinvloeden met klassieke soul, orkestrale arrangementen, blazers en gospelachtige achtergrondzang.
